Now it’s Ronaldo who is so desperate to move to Real Madrid. Again it is the huge amount of cash they have offered. Well what about Manchester United, the fans, Sir Alex Ferguson, his team mates? Does he not owe them anything at all? These are the people who have supported him throughout his time in England. Even after the Winking in the World Cup 2006 with the entire country baying for his blood its United who stood for him and subsequently made him the world’s finest football player and he will just betray all this for a bit more cash?
Ronaldo is not the last player who is going to do this. There are many more like him who have no sense of loyalty. Unfortunately greedy players and ever more greedy agents are killing the beautiful game with loyalty now seen as a thing of the past. It’s the agents too who have caused a lot of the problems these days. You have Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes reportedly meeting up with Madrid officials all the time, Sergio Ramos had his agent in England (while his client’s playing in the European Championship) saying that he has a very good relationship with Manchester United and that their interested in signing him. And this is a player who just recently said he wants to complete his career at Real Madrid!
